About Us
Islamic Dental Association of Malaysia (IDAM)
IDAM stands for Islamic Dental Association of Malaysia, as well as its motto, llmu, Da’wah, Amal, iMan. Started from just an idea discussed in a WhatsApp group among friends within the dentistry community, IDAM was subsequently formed with the initiation by Dr Yuszry Bin Yusop. A meeting was held soon after by the founding members in order to create a pro-tem committee.
IDAM was officially registered with the Registry of Societies Malaysia (ROS) on 29th April 2015. The first pro-tem meeting was then held on 17th May 2015 at myDENTIST@ampang to discuss and decide on matters regarding the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and to amend the Association’s constitution.
The Association’s first AGM was organised on 28th June 2015 at Sekolah Rendah lslam Al-Ainani in Klang, with 35 members in attendance.

Forming an ummah based on the Qur'an and Sunnah by an Association of Islamic dentistry scholars.
- Provide a group of scholars to propose appropriate laws for treatment and dental products.
- Encourage Islamic dental specialists and doctors to voice any relevant issues to be raised through this platform.
- Be a platform for Muslim dentists to provide perceptive views and ideas in regard to scientific knowledge and fiqh, as well as, become a social platform for them to interact with the ummah.
- Provide mentorship for dental faculties and young dentists in terms of career management and also within the clinical field.
- Be a platform for charity work in order to help the needy through the Association's wing, Dentistry for the Needy (DFTN).
- Become a medium between dental professionals and authorities regarding government rules and regulations.
- Organise Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes, workshops, talks, and seminars as a CPD provider.
- Connect with the public via social media to share information and create awareness in dentistry, especially the dangers of Fake Dentistry.
- To collaborate in research with other institutions and organisations.
