Webinar: Prosthodontic Management of Geriatric Patients

This lecture provides a practical approach to the prosthodontic management of geriatric patients for general dental practitioners. It explores how ageing, systemic diseases, polypharmacy, frailty, cognitive impairment, and psychological factors influence prosthodontic treatment planning and outcomes. Emphasis is placed on comprehensive patient assessment, effective communication, behavioural management, shared decision-making, and caregiver involvement. Through clinical algorithms and case-based discussions, participants will learn to select appropriate prosthodontic treatment options, manage common clinical challenges, and identify situations requiring specialist referrals. Hopefully, this lecture will enhance participants' confidence in delivering safe, patient-centred, and evidence-based prosthodontic care that improves function and quality of life in older adults.
